I've always thought, life is more than we can see. Our present life is not always only what we make of it, but we have been created with an specific purpose and mission. Whether you believe in a godly purpose or not , I can prove you that we are all created with a reason, and no matter how much we attempt to run from that, it follows us.
Now this post has nothing to do with photography, today's musing has more to do with my dog and the purpose of life.
Shakira is my 8 years old princess and right this moment, she is under goinga surgical procedure, and that made motivated me to write this.
Shakira is very loving and friendly. Always by my side, loves to follow me from room to room and always sleeps by my feet.
She enjoys being pampered, wearing clothes, hair ties and getting her hair done.
Depending on how closely you follow me, you may have seen Shakira as my official prop tester. Unlike toddlers, she has learned to pose still and look at the camera for me.
Shakira loves old people, and old people likes her because she is calm and well behaved, but she also has a royal kinda attitude.
Turns out Shih Tzus are one of the oldest breeds of dogs, and the whole description of my Shakira has to do with the origins of the breed.
As one of the more ancient breeds in existence, Shih Tzus are believed to have been bred by Tibetan lamas to be a tiny replica of a lion, which is associated with Buddhist mythology.
They were presented as presents to the Chinese royalty, and the breeds lion-like facial features were revered in Imperial courts because Buddha was said to have ridden to earth on the back of a lion.
During the Ming and Manchu Dynasties ( 1618-1683), the little lion dogs were bred and carefully raised by palace eunuchs and were considered exclusive property of the royal court. They were rarely seen outside the palaces and anyone caught owning one could be sentenced to death.
These thickly coated Shih Tzus were often carried inside the robes of noble women and used as bed warmers, placed at the feet of the emperors and empresses to generate heat.
As you can read, Shakira's personality is strictly tied to the purpose she was created to be, and while many may think I am crazy for comparing us humans to a dog, I prefer to believe that we do have a purpose in life that was designed by a smarter and superior being.
Now I don't feel entitled to impose my spiritual views on anybody, but if you are curious or feel inspired, I can suggest to turn to the Bible >
...but if you don't want to, that's fine, you can always adopt a Shih Tzu and enjoy a furry friend by your side :-)
